while-reading
have pupils look at the pictures on page32-33. tell them the passage is about how the chen family spend their weekend. invite the pupils to study the pictures to get an idea of what they do at the weekend.
set a purpose for reading the passage: jiamin doesn't have to go to school at the weekend. his mum and dad don't have to go to work. but they are still very busy at the weekend. why? what do they do at the weekend?
have pupils read the passage silently then play the recording. go through the questions with pupils one by one.
play the recording, pausing if necessary for pupils to do the matching.
explain the task of p34 ask and answer meantime give them an example let them know how to do.then check the answers with them.
play the video of the story. let pupils try to retell the story with their own word. ask the pupils some questions to consolidate the story.
