I went to the Shanghai World Expo this summer holiday. I went by plane with my classmates. We set off in the morning. It took us about two hours to get there. There were more than two hundred pavilions in the Expo. We visited some national pavilions, such as China Pavilion, Japan Pavilion and Germany Pavilion. There were too many people, so we had to wait in lines for our turns to go in. All the pavilions were beautiful. We liked them very much.

Welcome to this short tour of London. In this square we are standing in the middle of London. Opposite is the National Gallery, a museum with lots of famous paintings. Go along the red street to Buckingham Palace. The queen lives here.
Turn left and go to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Opposite you can see the London Eye. It takes you 135 meters above the River Thames. You can see most of London on a clear day.
When you are tired, the best way to see London is by boat. You can get the boat near Big Ben. As you go along the river, the London Eye is on your right.
Get off the boat at Tower Bridge. Then you can see the Tower of London next to the bridge. The Tower of London is the city’s oldest palace. It is nine hundred years old.
Take the boat back along the river. Get off the boat and go past the station and walk along the street. Opposite is the old fruit and vegetable market. They don’t sell fruit and vegetables now. There are stores and restaurants, and lots of street musicians. Turn left into King’s Street, and go past the church. You’re now back where you started, at the square. Now you finish your tour.-

钱塘江大潮，古人称之为“壮观天下无”。它的形成与其独具的自然条件密切相关。其一，因江口呈喇叭形，宽处过百里，窄处仅十里，巨潮被狭窄的江道约束，当然会形成波澜壮阔的涌潮。其二，河口有巨大拦门沙坎，潮水涌进遇到如此巨阻，当然会掀揭天下；前浪遭阻，后浪又上，波赶波，浪叠浪，潮水就会奔腾咆哮，排山倒海般地呼啸而来。
钱塘江观潮，历史悠久，有文献记载的就有两千多年，为宋朝时最盛。现在观潮在浙江海宁，但在宋代，观潮胜地却在临安，就是今天的杭州市。南宋定都临安，每年农历八月十八日都要举行观潮盛典。迎潮前有水军演习，潮到时又有吴地少年弄潮争标表演，当日从宫廷到民间争相观看，万人空巷，十分热闹。

指示代词
this 和 that 是英语中两个最基本、最常用的指示代词，它们的区别是：
1. 当涉及辨认近物和远物时用 this 和 that 加以区分，例如：
This is a book. 这是一本书。（指近处物品）
That is a car. 那是一辆小汽车。（指远处物品）
—What is that? 那是什么？（问远处物品）
—It is a jeep. 它是一辆吉普车。
2. 介绍放在一起的两样东西时，先介绍的用 this ，后介绍的用 that 。例如：
This is a pen. That is a pencil. 这是一支钢笔，那是一支铅笔。
3. 把某人介绍给第三者时，常使用 “This is...” 这一句型，其中 this 不能换成 he 或 she 。例如：
Jim, this is my teacher, Mr Black. 吉姆，这是我的老师，布莱克先生。
4. 打电话，向对方介绍自己时要用 “This is...”。询问或确认对方是哪一位时，可以说 “Who's that? ” （你是谁？）或 “Is that... ？（是 …… 吗？） ” 。例如：
